Rooted in Oregon. Committed to Sustainable Recycling.

At Heard Farms, Inc., we believe that environmental challenges can become agricultural solutions. Based in Roseburg, Oregon, we are a family-founded wastewater treatment and beneficial reuse facility dedicated to closing the nutrient loop for municipalities, food producers, and local agricultural land.

Our Story

Founded on a better idea for Oregon's waste

When Richard Heard founded Heard Farms, Inc. in the late 1990s, he saw a problem nobody was solving well. Wastewater from Douglas County and surrounding areas was burdening rivers and landfills — a large, ongoing cost to the environment with no upside.

"Take a large negative impact on Oregon's rivers and landfills — and turn it into something that benefits sustainable farming."
